District police on Friday issued notices to the party leaders and cadre to not violate Section 30 of the Police Act, which is in place.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chandrababu Naidu.
YSRCP leader and ex-cm YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will visit Tirumala Tirupati temple on Saturday to offer prayers to Lord Venkateswara Swamy amid the laddu controversy.
The visit is a part of rituals organized by YCP across various temples in the state after the party’s poor performance in the recent Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
It is also to atone for the ‘sin’ committed by CM Naidu by way of alleging ‘animal fat’ was used in the preparation of Tirupati laddu.
District police issue notices to YCP leaders, cadre:
Amidst the planned visit, district police on Friday issued notices to the party leaders and cadre to not violate Section 30 of the Police Act, which is in place.
The police may also issue a notice to the former cm himself when he lands at Renigunta airport later on Friday to not violate prohibitory orders.
The police are also issuing notices to YCP leaders in several places of the state as messages are being spread on social media to gather at some locations in Tirupati in show of solidarity with Jagan Reddy.
“Section 30 of the Police Act which regulates public assemblies and processions is in force in the district. The notices are nothing but cautioning them not to come and defy orders. Jagan Mohan Reddy may also be issued a notice at the airport not to defy prohibitory orders,” an official told PTI.
Declaration call:
The visit also comes as ruling coalition parties TDP, Jana Sena and BJP, have asked Jagan to publicly declare his ‘faith’ before entering the temple shrine. The demand is to ask Jagan to declare his belief in Lord Venkateswara before entering the temple.
Speaking to Tv9 Telugu, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, former TTD chairman said, “They are creating obstacles in every step of the way. Pseudo devotees are asking Jagan to declare his faith to go for darshan. For five years as chief minister, he presented silk robes to the lord on various festivals and you still need him to give a declaration?
There is a political conspiracy behind this. No matter how many obstacles the government creates, Jagan will visit the temple and darshan will happen.”
