That is not a lot of horsepower considering most four cylinders produce this much but we have to consider that this is a 55 year old vehicle. It also only has drum brakes which is something that is not recommended on the Nürburgring.
Misha, who has been one of the more popular drivers at the Ring hustles the vehicles through corners and its a fun sight. The car does not have racing seats and rather has a couch plonked into it which makes corners an exercise of holding on to the steering wheel and staying at your place. It’s not fast by today’s standard but there is something so fun about taking a vehicle which is definitely not built for the track and absolutely nailing it on the Ring.
The Ranchero looks incredible fun to drive on the Ring and while it is not the fastest, it sure is full of character. The Ranchero was pitched as a coupe utility truck and even though it looks like a pick-up-truck in the first glance, it actually was essentially a station wagon with only two doors and the rest of its roof cut off.
