New Delhi: Kartik Aaryan has been in the headlines for his recent release, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Apart from Kartik, the movie stars Triptii Dimrii, Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit. During the film promotion, the candid banter between Vidya Balan and Kartik Aaryan is too good to miss. An interesting conversation came to light after Vidya Balan teased Kartik for choosing a condom ad instead of the regular pan masala brand endorsements.
During a promotional event, Siddharth Kanan asked Kartik Aaryan why he refused to work with or feature in a pan masala advertisement. The biggest stars in Bollywood have worked in such ads, so why did Kartik Aaryan refuse to do so? Here is what the actor had to say.
Why did Kartik Aaryan reject pan masala advertisement?
Siddharth Kanan elaborated that he learned that the actor did not fall for the huge paycheck despite being in the early stages of his career where money matters the most. Kartik Aaryan revealed that he rejected an offer because they wanted him to do types of work that he was not comfortable with. In Vidya Balan fashion, the actress jokingly teased him about his choice and said, “He chose a condom advertisement instead of Pan Masala because he prefers safety over Pan Masala.”
This statement erupted laughter from Kartik. The actor couldn’t help but laugh at the banter. Karthik Aaryan was seen embarrassed and said, “Koi chup karao ye aurat ko…Muh pe tape lagao.” But, when he regained his composure he agreed and added, “Yes, she is right. When it comes to safety versus Pan Masala, I chose safety because it’s important.”
Actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar have previously featured in such advertisements. However, despite their level of stardom, the stars have been criticised for working in commercials that promoted the use of pan masala. Actor Akshay Kumar went as far as quitting the ad after his fans pointed out his double standards while promoting a healthy lifestyle and pan masala.
