New Delhi: Actress-turned-politician Smriti Irani has put an end to rumours about her making a comeback on television. Speculation had been brewing that the Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi actress would return to the small screen with a special appearance in Rupali Ganguly’s hit show Anupamaa. However, Smriti wasted no time in clearing the air, calling the rumours “fake news” and giving fans a good laugh in the process.

The rumour mill started churning when a post on TellyChakkar’s Instagram page hinted that Smriti might appear in Anupamaa after the show’s upcoming generational leap. The post suggested she would have a special cameo, sparking excitement among her long-time fans.

Smriti Irani will not star in Anupamaa

However, Smriti was quick to respond in the comment section, saying, “Fake news!!!” Fans joined in on the fun, dropping laughing emojis and agreeing that the rumour was completely baseless.

Anupamaa, which has been dominating the TRP charts since its debut in 2020, is currently preparing for a major 15-year leap. The new storyline will follow the lead character, Anupamaa, as she embarks on a journey to find her grown-up daughter, Aadhya. With its gripping family drama and emotional depth, the show has captured the hearts of millions, making it one of the most-watched serials on Indian TV. But despite the constant twists and turns, one thing fans won’t be seeing is Smriti Irani in a cameo role.
