New Delhi: Telugu Titans held nerves to defeat Bengaluru Bulls in a tight contest of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) match played at the  GMCB Indoor Stadium in Gachibowli, Hyderabad on Saturday. Despite some late threat from the Bulls to make a remarkable comeback, the Pawan Sehrawat-led Telugu Titans were well composed to clinch the match at 38-35.

While the Telugu Titans were leading 31-24 with just nine minutes to go, there was a strategic time out called. Minutes after the match resumed, Bengaluru Bulls, suddenly fuelled by the ted talk of coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat, came heavy on the Titans in a bid to snatch victory from the jaws of the defeat.

Ajinkya Pawar tapped Ankit and Ashish Narwal to plunder two points before Nitin, the final man on the mat for Telugu Titans, was caught while raiding. The Bulls here clinched three crucial points with the Titans getting ‘all-out’. To add worries for the hosts, Pawan Sehrawat was firmly tackled with the razor-sharp move by Nitin Rawal.

There was another time-out call, this time taken by the Bengaluru Bulls, just after Ajinkya picked another point, getting the hold of Krishan. Telugu Titans entered the mat with a winning mindset with the team still in a lead at 34-31.

Vijay Malik got Jatin out before Ajinkya Pawar couldn’t make a return back to the Bulls’ court with Ajit Pawar making a tight hold of his leg. In the do-or-die raid, Ashish Narwal managed to tap Surinder Dehal to extend Telugu’s lead. In the dying minutes of the game, Nitin Rawal went to catch Pawan, but the Telugu raider wriggled to get away from it. In the final raid, Vijay Malik got Prateek out to ensure Telugu finished with a three-point win.

Pawan Sehrawat accumulated 14 points from eight successful raids along with one successful tackle. This was the fourth Super 10 for the Telugu Titans captain in this season.
