Navratri Jalsa begins: Mumbai Metro announces extended services for Dandiya nights

The Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) will launch 12 additional nighttime Metro services from October 7 to 11 during the Navratri festival, providing more late-night travel options for festival-goers to access city celebrations easily.

Mumbai: In a festive move to accommodate late-night travellers, the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd (MMMOCL) has announced the launch of 12 additional nighttime Metro services during the Navratri festival, running from October 7 to 11. This initiative aims to provide more late-night travel options for festival-goers, ensuring they can easily access celebrations across the city.

Starting at 11:00 PM, the extra services will run every 15 minutes in both directions between Andheri West and Gundavali, with the last train departing at 12:30 AM. This expansion will increase the total number of Metro trips during the festival period to 294 daily, up from the usual 282.

Apart from announcing the decision on X (formerly Twitter), the MMMOCL Chairman Mr. Mukherjee also stressed the importance of these extended services. As the city gears up for the Navratri festivities, authorities are prioritising safe and efficient travel for devotees and residents. To facilitate late-night commuting, extended Metro services will be available, ensuring a comfortable journey for all attendees.

  • 11:15 PM – 12:24 AM
  • 11:30 PM – 12:39 AM
  • 11:45 PM – 12:54 AM
  • 12:00 AM – 1:09 AM
  • 12:15 AM – 1:24 AM
  • 12:30 AM – 1:39 AM

Gundavali to Andheri West:

  • 11:15 PM – 12:24 AM
  • 11:30 PM – 12:39 AM
  • 11:45 PM – 12:54 AM
  • 12:00 AM – 1:09 AM
  • 12:15 AM – 1:24 AM
  • 12:30 AM – 1:39 AM

Record breaking ridership achieved by Mumbai Metro

Meanwhile in a related development, MMMOCL recently achieved a significant milestone by recording its highest daily ridership, with 287,073 passengers using Mumbai Metro Line 2A and 7. This surge in ridership underscores the growing reliance on the city’s public transportation system.
