Delhi: Kalindi Kunj Road, which connects Delhi, Noida and Greater Noida, is soon going to be transformed into a four-lane road. The DPR of the project has been approved by Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department’s Lucknow headquarters. The DPR is now going to be submitted to the authorities from the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority. The tender procedure will begin once both departments sign a memorandum of understanding.
On September 2023, former Chief Minister of Haryana, Manohar Lal said that the route would be widened to four lanes. The road is owned by the Uttar Pradesh Irrigation Department and it will develop the road. After completion of the project, more than one lakh commuters would be benefitted from it everyday.
Connects with Delhi-Mumbai Expressway
The total estimated cost of the project is Rs 278 crore. 20-kilometre-long four lane road from Sahupura Chowk to Palla Bridge will be build through the project. The route connects with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway which continues upto Kalindi Kunj. A 20-kilometre-long pedestrian and cycling track will also be build along with the road. The cycling track will be three-metre wide while the sidewalk would be 1.8-metre wide. A divider of 1.5-metre will be made in middle of the road. The divider will have street lights and trees planted in it. Green belt will be developed on one side of the road.
Will boost connectivity with Noida International Airport
Along the road, six flyovers are planned to be build which will be at IMT, Chandavali, Sector-8 Baroli, BPTP, Khedi Cut, and Palla. The current two-lane road would be covered with a new layer. A new will be build beside the road to fill the empty space. This route at Sahupura will connect to the highway leading to Noida International Airport. Even though the it is close to Delhi, the traffic congestion can make the journey seem much longer than it actually is. Journey that must take minutes to complete usually takes hours.
