The latest Flipkart and Amazon sales ahead of the Diwali festive season in India have unleashed some tempting deals that are surely worth checking. While last year’s iPhone 15 and some previous flagship models are obvious to be part of the sale, the recently launched iPhone 16 is rare to be found with a good decent. While debugging the belief, this Reddit user claimed to buy the latest iPhone 16 under Rs 27,000, that too for a 256GB storage variant!
As soon as he shared his unusual deal on Reddit, the post went viral. The reasons are obvious. It is rare to find such a deal on the latest iPhone 16. So, what exactly happened? How did he manage to grab the iPhone 16 at this low price? Read on.

Before you get too excited, know that the iPhone 16 was launched at a starting price of Rs 79,900 for a 128GB storage variant, while the 256GB option is priced at Rs 89,900. The post suggests that the Reddit user paid Rs 26,970 via credit card while the rest of the amount has been covered by reward points that the user had collected. He used Rs 62,930 via HDFC Infinia credit card to redeem the points and reduce the price of the iPhone 16. Despite this, the user mentioned, “Thanks to the reward points. I now regret using this card for some of my big spends.”
We get it, you must be having many questions in your head. So are the users on Reddit! Several people asked out of curiosity how the user managed to collect such a huge amount. In reply to that, the iPhone 16 buyer replied in several comments that he/she has spent around 15 lakh to be able to get this much amount of points over one or more years. While another asked why he regrets using the card to get a discount, the user replied, “I used Amazon pay card for jewellery purchases just for 1% cashback thinking Infinia won’t give any points on jewellery but it actually does.”
