Tech Executive Aditya Agarwal Questions iPhone 16 Pro Features, Calls Upgrade a ‘Waste
The recently launched iPhone 16 series fan following is across the globe, however, Aditya Agarwal, an Indian-born tech executive and former Facebook employee, has openly criticised Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro! Known for his role as Facebook’s first Director of Product Engineering, Agarwal shared his disappointment after upgrading from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Agarwal expressed his frustration with the iPhone 16 Pro, claiming his upgrade was a “waste of time.”
“I upgraded from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. I literally cannot tell the difference. It took me 24 hours to set up the new phone properly etc. It just feels like a waste of time,” he mentioned in the post. Agarwal’s criticism of the iPhone 16 Pro is that it lacks noticeable improvements over its predecessor’s previous avatar, the iPhone 14 Pro! He noted that after spending 24 hours setting up the new phone, he could not tell any significant difference between the two models.
Where Is “Apple Intelligence?”
Not only that, Agarwal also pointed out that the much-anticipated and talked about “Apple Intelligence” feature failed to deliver on its promises. He questioned its absence, writing, “I do not understand where this ‘Apple Intelligence’ is????” When a user commented that “Apple Intelligence” was a feature that had yet to be fully implemented, Agarwal’s response was blunt: “Show not tell. Ship, don’t promise.”
I “upgraded” from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro.
I literally cannot tell the difference.
It took me 24 hours to set up the new phone properly etc. It just feels like a waste of time.
And I do not understand where this “Apple Intelligence” is????

He echoed several other users’ disappointed expectations who believed there would be a bunch of Apple Intelligence but found lacking in the iPhone 16 Pro. A user replied, ” I was disappointed that it wasn’t just on the phone. And agree it is barely different. Camera is good though,” while another said “I went from a 12 to a 16 and still can’t tell much of a difference. And yes re-logging into all my apps is a waste of time.”
