New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted isolated heavy to very rainfall in parts of Maharashtra and Kerala till October 12, while heavy rainfall is expected over parts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal till October 11. No significant rainfall is however predicted in other parts of the country.
According to the weather department, isolated heavy rainfall may continue in the southern part of Karnataka till October 8 and Lakshadweep till October 12. Similarly, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall is expected in parts of Kerala and Maharashtra, Lakshadweep, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu during the week. Parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema Telangana may also expect isolated to scattered or moderate rainfall.
Light to moderate rainfall expected in parts of North-East India
The week may also witness fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall in parts of Northeast India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and isolated rainfall in the eastern part of the country. As per it, isolated heavy rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh in the next six days Meghalaya in the next 5 days, and Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, and Mizoram on October 7.
Earlier on Sunday, some parts of North East including Meghalaya and Assam received heavy rainfall. Among the places where heavy rainfall was recorded include Nongstein (district West Khasi Hills), Resubelpara (district North Garo Hills), Williamnagar (District East Garo Hills), Mawkyrwat (District South West Khasi Hills), among others. Parts of Uttarakhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Maharashtra, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Maharashtra also received heavy rainfall on the same day.

Significant rainfall was also seen in the Kodagu district of Karnataka, Bankura district of West Bengal, Loharkhet district of Uttarakhand, and Nashik district of Madhya Pradesh.
