Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad has announced new direct IndiGo flights to six major Indian cities. This initiative aims to enhance air travel convenience and position Hyderabad as a central hub for exploring the country’s cultural and heritage sites.

Hyderabad: In a significant move to enhance air travel from Hyderabad, the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad has announced the launch of new direct flights by IndiGo to six major cities across India. This initiative aims to provide travelers with more convenient options and establish Hyderabad as a central hub for exploring the country’s rich cultural and heritage sites.
As per its latest announcement, IndiGo will connect Hyderabad’s RGIA to the following destinations:

New routes, operational days and all you need to know
- Hyderabad-Agartala-Hyderabad: Starting on September 23, the Agartala route will operate four times a week, with flights departing RGIA at 7:30 AM and arriving at 10:20 AM.
- Hyderabad-Jammu-Hyderabad: The Jammu service will commence the following day, running three times weekly, with departures at 7:05 AM and arrivals at 10:10 AM.
- Hyderabad-Agra-Hyderabad: On September 28, IndiGo will introduce a three-times-a-week flight to Agra, departing Hyderabad at 1:55 PM and reaching Agra at 4:05 PM.
- Hyderabad-Kanpur-Hyderabad: The Kanpur route will also start on September 27, with flights operating four times a week, leaving Hyderabad at 8:55 AM and landing at 11:00 AM.
- Hyderabad-Ayodhya-Hyderabad: Additionally, the Ayodhya route will operate four times weekly, with departures from Hyderabad at 1:55 PM and arrivals at 4:05 PM.
- Hyderabad-Praygraj-Hyderabad: Lastly, the Prayagraj service, formerly known as Allahabad, will begin on September 28 with three weekly flights, departing at 8:55 AM and arriving at 10:50 AM.
Big boost towards enhancing Hyderabad’s cultural tourism
Pradeep Panicker, CEO of GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL), expressed enthusiasm about the expansion, stating, “By expanding our domestic routes, we’re making it easier for travelers to discover the diverse landscapes and cultures of India.”
This expansion is expected to greatly enhance travel options for passengers while promoting Hyderabad as a vital link for domestic tourism.
