BJP accuses Tejashwi Yadav of ‘theft,’ RJD demands inventory release | India News

The RJD, Yadav’s party, has vehemently denied the allegations, demanding the release of the inventory and challenging the BJP to apologise if they cannot provide evidence.

New Delhi: The political landscape in Bihar has taken a dramatic turn, with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) accusing Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition and former Deputy Chief Minister, of “stealing” furniture and appliances from his official bungalow.

The RJD, Yadav’s party, has vehemently denied the allegations, demanding the release of the inventory and challenging the BJP to apologise if they cannot provide evidence.

The accusations come as Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary is set to move into the bungalow at 5 Deshratan Road in Patna, previously occupied by Yadav, on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami.

According to Shatrughan Prasad, Chaudhary’s personal secretary, the bungalow has been “robbed” of its belongings, including hydraulic beds, sofa sets, split ACs, lights, and even wash basins and water taps.

“We are bringing to light how the Deputy Chief Minister’s house has been robbed of its belongings. When Sushil Modi had shifted to this house, there were two hydraulic beds, there were sofa sets for guests and this was for everywhere to see, including the press. All those things are missing,” Prasad, was quoted as saying by news agency IANS.

“More than 20 split ACs are missing. There is no computer or chair in the operating room. There is no fridge or RO in the kitchen. Lights have been snatched from the walls,” he added.

“There is no computer or chair in the operating room, no fridge or RO in the kitchen, and the gym is empty,” added Danish Iqbal, the Bihar BJP’s media in-charge, who inspected the premises. He also claimed that the badminton court’s mat and foundation lights are missing.

The RJD, however, maintains that all items were present when Yadav vacated the bungalow and challenged the BJP to release the inventory, which they claim to have documented.

“We have all the evidence. Our people, along with the media, were also making a video,” said Shakti Yadav, the RJD’s national spokesperson, adding, “We challenge you to release the inventory or apologize if you can’t do that.”

Union Minister Giriraj Singh, representing Begusarai in Bihar, also joined the fray, calling for a detailed probe to determine the extent of the alleged “theft.”
