Bengaluru Business Corridor Project: HUDCO agrees to provide complete funding | Bengaluru News

Bengaluru News

The Bengaluru Business Corridor Project is intended to connect Tumakuru Road with Hosur Road which will also pass through several important roads such as Doddaballapur Road, Bellary Road, and Old Madras Road.

Bengaluru: The anticipated Bengaluru Business Corridor Project also called the Peripheral Ring Road Project gets a boost as the Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) gives a written confirmation to the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) for providing 100 per cent fund (Rs 27,000 crore) for the project.

The BDA on Monday was assigned with eight new land officers to accelerate the 73-km Bengaluru Business Corridor Project. Moreover, a new office will be made at Yelahanka and three more in the area near 76 villages from which the land is supposed to be taken for the project, as per The New Indian Express report.

Project expected to boost connectivity

HUDCO is a public sector undertaking which provides funds for housing and urban development projects. The project is intended to connect Tumakuru Road with Hosur Road which will also pass through several important roads such as Doddaballapur Road, Bellary Road, and Old Madras Road. The project was delayed due to the delay in transfer of 193 acres government land, even after the government’s decision to hand over the land to BDA free of cost.

Compensation for land remains challenging

According to the report, providing the compensation for the land owners is a big challenge as the rightful owner of the land has to be confirmed first. The BDA has planned to ease the compensation process by opening satellite offices near the affected area to provide convenience for the people. This will eliminate the need of people to travel to the central BDA office. The process of compensation is expected to complete within six months.

HUDCO’s Chief General Manager is expected to visit the BDA soon for completing the formalities. As long as the funding and land acquisition process are not get completed, no tenders will be invited.
