Bank Holiday tomorrow? There is a huge query as to whether banks will observe a holiday on Dhanteras, which will be celebrated on October 29, 2024, i.e., Tuesday.

New Delhi: With Dhanteras all set to be celebrated on October 29, 2024, i.e., Tuesday, a large number of people are curious about whether banks will remain closed or open tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has declared that banks will remain closed in several states on October 31, the occasion for Diwali, however, in some states banks will remain closed on November 1 as Deepavali will be celebrated on Friday. It may be noted that Muhurat Trading 2024 in the stock market will be held on November 1 evening.

The RBI has not declared a bank holiday for Dhanteras. The central bank’s holiday calendar does not mention 29th October as a holiday in any region of the country. All banks across all the states and Union Territories will remain open on October 29 (Tuesday).

Banks will remain open on Tuesday and regular operations will continue on the occasion of. Dhanteras, also known as Dhantrayodashi. This is an auspicious festival for Hindus which is celebrated before every Diwali. It has been a tradition among Hindus to buy gold, silver broom, utensils on this particular day. This day is dedicated to Lord Kubera, the god of wealth, Lord Dhanvantari, the god of Ayurveda, and Mother Lakshmi. Traditionally, people purchase gold, silver, utensils, and brooms on this day, as these items are considered auspicious and believed to bring good fortune.

Diwali 2024 Bank Holiday on October 31

This year, there is a confusion regarding the date of Diwali. Some states are observing a holiday on October 31 while others have announced a holiday on November 1. According to astrology, Diwali 2024 will be observed on October 31, as Amavasya is scheduled to begin at 3:12 pm and will conclude on November 1 at 5:53 PM.

As per the RBI holiday list, banks will remain closed for Diwali (Deepavali)/Kali Puja/Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s Birthday/Naraka Chaturdashi on October 31, 2024 (Thursday) in these states: Gujarat, Mizoram, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Hyderabad – Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad – Telangana, Arunachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Kerala, Nagaland, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Himachal Pradesh.
