Apple received a patent to get an all-glass MacBook with a virtual keyboard. Here’s how it works.

Apple MacBook designs are expected to get revamped soon. Apple has recently been granted a patent that hints at an exciting new design for its MacBook lineup. As per the PatentlyApple platform, the new design may feature an all-glass exterior and a “shaker module,” which may change how you interact with your laptops. As per the latest patent report, the rumoured MacBook is expected to get a complete glass display.
What else is different? The patent report suggests that the new MacBook keyboard will use a virtual one displayed on the screen, unlike the traditional models that are based on hardware keyboards. However, it seems similar to the Asus Zenbook Duo OLED concept, which features a dual OLED touchscreen and a detachable keyboard. The patent suggests that the glass housing will not only protect the internal components but also provide a sleek and modern look.
The surface of this glass housing would serve multiple functions. When not in use for text input, it could display different user interface elements, making it adaptable for various tasks, the report suggested. Additionally, the housing is designed to integrate ports without compromising on aesthetics.
MacBook With Shaker Module: What Is It?
Alongside its innovative design, this MacBook is also expected to include a “shaker module.” What will it do? This component will generate low-frequency audio output through vibrations. As per the patent, the shaker module can be installed in compact spaces within the device, which will allow it to produce sound effects usually reserved for larger devices with dedicated speakers.
This technology could enhance the user experience by providing haptic feedback and sound output, creating a more immersive interaction with the device. The shaker module’s placement within the housing means it could simulate low-frequency sounds without requiring extra space for traditional audio components.
However, it’s important to note that while patents often indicate future product possibilities, not all patented technologies make it to market. Hence, will MacBook get an all-glass design and virtual keywords, is still unsure.
