Canadian Police have arrested Abjeet Kingra, while another suspect- Vikram Sharma- remains untraced. Police suspect that Sharma might have escaped to India after the attack.
Police have arrested one India-origin man in connection with firing outside the house of singer AP Dhillon in September.
New Delhi: Canadian Police have arrested a person in connection with shooting outside the house of singer AP Dhillon in British Columbia on September 2 this year. The shooters had also set afire two vehicles during the attack.
On October 30, 2024, a man was arrested and charged in connection with incident related to shooting and setting fire to two vehicles in the 3300 block of Ravenwood Road, Colwood, said a statement from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.
“On October 30, 2024, police arrested 25-year-old Abjeet Kingra of Winnipeg. Abjeet Kingra has been charged with Discharge of a Firearm with Intent and Arson. Abjeet Kingra was arrested in Ontario,” reads the police statement.
Arrest warrant issued against Vikram Sharma
The police have also issued an arrest warrant against 23-year-old Vikram Sharma who is last known to be residing in Winnipeg. It is believed that Sharma might have escaped to India.
As per the police warrant, Sharma is wanted on charges like- Discharge of a Firearm with Intent; Arson. Cops, who do not have a photo of Vikram Sharma, described him as South Asian Male; 5’9 (180 cm) tall; 200 lbs (90kg); Black hair; Brown eyes.
The police urged the general public to share any available information about Sharma with them.
Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar had claimed responsibility for attack
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara had claimed responsibility for the attack via a social media post. The gangsters had threatened Dhillon to “stay within his limits, or he will meet a “dog’s death.” Dhillon was targetted reportedly for his proximity to actor Salman Khan.
