Google Search is getting a bunch of AI feature to change the way find information. Know what’s new.

AI is taking all over the place in your life. Another big update is that Google has integrated artificial intelligence (AI) into your search engine, bringing a range of new features. The update uses Google’s Gemini AI models and introduces a new way of organising search results, making information easier to access and interact with. One of the main features Google has rolled out is the AI Overviews. While already available to several users, this generative AI tool uses large language models to summarise search results into brief and small paragraphs, which allows you to quickly get answers to your questions. 

These overviews are designed to handle open-ended queries, providing a useful snapshot of information, as well as links to the most relevant web pages. Earlier, Google started testing this feature in specific regions and has now expanded it globally to all countries where AI Overviews are supported. 

Organising Search Results with AI

The integration of AI into Google Search not only improves the content but also changes how results are displayed. According to Liz Reid, Vice President and Head of Google Search, you will now see a more structured page layout with information organised into categories. This layout makes it easier for you to explore content from various sources, including articles, videos, and forums, all in one place. Moreover, Google has added direct links to supporting web pages within AI Overviews. 

Better Shopping Experience

Another key addition to Google Search is its integration of AI with Google Lens, making visual and multimodal searches more powerful. This tool enables you to shop directly from search results, providing comprehensive information about products, including prices, ratings, and reviews, all pulled from Google’s Shopping Graph. The graph is updated frequently, ensuring accurate and up-to-date results for a seamless shopping experience.
