New Delhi: As the current campaign proceeds ahead, Leroy Sane is thinking about leaving Bayern Munich. With only a year left on his contract at the Allianz Arena, it was widely reported over the summer that the German giants were considering selling Sané. Arsenal did show their interest in the 28-year-old, but Bayern was never able to get a firm bid for the winger. Subsequent to that, there have been tidings that the record-breaking winners would now prefer to extend Sané’s contract with the team, ideally reaching a consensus prior to the start of the January transfer window.
The German forward had a rather slow start to his Bayern life, but he did show signs of improvement since the 2020/21 season, his debut campaign for Bayern. Sane joined Bayern Munich after a few prolific seasons at Premier League, playing for Manchester City, under Pep Guardiola. He was certainly one of their brightest stars, when it came to consistantly producing top class performances on the pitch. However, last few seasons with Bayern have looked rather underwhelming for the German international, despite showing glimpses of his class.
Why is Leroy Sane planning to leave Bayern Munich?
Sane is reportedly thinking of leaving the team, even if the former Manchester City forward also hopes to stay in Bavaria. The 28 year old is aware that, with Serge Gnabry, Kingsley Coman, and Michael Olise ahead of him in the squad, he is now no more seen as an important component of Vincent Kompany’s plans. In addition, Sané is supposedly open to leaving Bavaria for a Champions League team due to interest from Newcastle United.
Arsenal and Newcastle are reportedly interested in signing Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane in January.

The fact that the Bayern already have a number of versatile wingers makes it rather complicated, despite the fact that Sane has certainly has a great reputation of being the first choice player. However, there are chances that the German might might decide to move on and join a new Premier League club. It looks less likely that we will be getting to witness him re uniting with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but there are other Premier League side that might show interest to buy the talented winger.
This also means that Newcastle have a great chance of stealing Sané from Munich if they manage to make it into Europe’s most coveted tournament once more.
