Hyderabad: Officials of Revenue and Irrigation Department have demolished an unauthorized multi storey building constructed on a lake, in Malkapur, Kondapur mandal, Sangareddy district.
The demolition of the unauthorized structure was carried out by using explosives, footage of the demolition showed. Two people sustained minor injuries after the explosions brought the building on the lake down.
The multi storey building was constructed by an individual from Secunderabad over a decade ago and the lack of No Objection Certificate was cited as a reason to carry out the demolition. He even constructed steps to enter the building from the bank of the lake, as per officials.
The individual reportedly visits the premises over the weekends with his family, officials said. He would also rent it out to people coming from Hyderabad for short durations.

The demolitions come in the backdrop of actions being taken by Hydraa to demolish buildings constructed illegally on encroached lake lands and in the Full Tank Level (FTL) and Buffer zones of lakes.
