Delhi News

Based on the family’s complaint and video, the police filed an FIR against Reena on Monday and arrested her on Tuesday. The accused maid has been booked under Section 272 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS)- malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life.

Ghaziabad: The incident, that came to light on Tuesday where a house help was caught urinating in a utensil and using that to cook food for her employers, shook the region. During interrogation, the cops found out that the maid did the act to take revenge from her employers as they used to scold her for minor mistakes.

The maid, identified as 32-year-old Reena, worked for a family of real estate businessman in Ghaziabad for past eight years. She was arrested on Tuesday for kneading dough with her urine and making rotis, police said. The accused is a resident of Shanti Nagar Colony of Ghaziabad and was caught on camera committing the disgusting act, added the police.

Incident came to light after family faced liver issues

The family got suspicious over the quality of the food after the members started suffering liver issues. Smelling something fishy, Rupam, wife of house owner Nitin Gautam, started to keep an eye on the maid’s activities. The family secretly placed a camera and recorded a video in which the maid was captured urinating in a utensil and kneading the dough with it.

Based on the family’s complaint and video, the police filed an FIR against Reena on Monday and arrested her on Tuesday.

“During interrogation, the maid initially denied the allegations. However, upon being confronted with the video, she confessed to her actions. The maid claimed she was motivated by revenge after being frequently scolded by her employer for minor mistakes,” said ACP Wave City Lipi Nagaich, as quoted by the PTI.

The accused maid has been booked under Section 272 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS)- malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life.

UP govt to form new law to check such incidents

Similar disgusting incidents of mixing human waste, like urine and spit, to food items have also been reported from other parts of the state. To curb such incidents, the Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday said that it will soon form a new law against people who ‘hide their identity’ and mix inedible material in eatables.
