Trump’s victory could threaten Zelensky’s position; loss could spell trouble for Musk | World News

World News

Zelensky could face intense pressure to concede certain terms to end the conflict, something he has resisted under the current administration.

New York: On November 5, as Americans cast their votes, the fate of more than just former President Donald Trump and Vice  President Kamala Harris hangs in the balance. The results will likely impact the futures of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and one of the world’s wealthiest individuals, Elon Musk, whose stakes in the election may be greater than many realize.

Trump’s Comeback: Pressure on Zelensky?

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he could end the Russia-Ukraine war quickly. For Zelensky, this could mean a new wave of pressure as Trump may push for negotiations with Russia. Zelensky could face intense pressure to concede certain terms to end the conflict, something he has resisted under the current administration.

Elon Musk’s Fate: White House Ally or Legal Trouble?

A Trump victory could potentially ease Musk’s legal troubles, as Trump has often shown support for Musk’s business endeavours. Musk’s Starlink satellite network has drawn scrutiny for its use in conflict zones, especially for Ukraine’s military. The Biden administration has taken a tough stance on corporate power, particularly Musk’s high-profile ventures, hinting at a potentially more restrictive approach if Harris succeeds.

Harris’ Administration: Tougher Scrutiny for Musk?

Under the Biden-Harris administration, Musk’s business decisions have been under scrutiny and could face increased pressure if Harris wins. A Trump defeat might introduce new regulatory challenges, especially over Starlink’s use in international conflicts.

With growing concerns over Musk’s influence, a Harris administration could look into greater oversight, including restrictions on how his technology is used in sensitive regions.

Could Trump’s Return Bring a Quick End to the War?

Trump has insisted he would swiftly end the Russia-Ukraine conflict if re-elected, suggesting he might foster closer US-Russia ties. His approach could alter the dynamics of the war, pressuring Ukraine into negotiations.

Zelensky’s resistance might falter if Trump brokers an understanding with Russia, prompting a major shift in Ukraine’s current strategies.

This US election could have significant implications not only for the domestic political landscape but also for global dynamics involving Ukraine and Elon Musk’s enterprises. A Trump victory might put Ukraine under pressure to concede on certain terms to end the war, while potentially granting Musk a legal reprieve.

Conversely, a Trump loss could mean more oversight of Musk’s ventures and fewer options for Ukraine’s President Zelensky.
