YSRCP senior leader and former minister Balineni Srinivas quit the party and sent his resignation letter to YCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy. He is expected to join Jana Sena in the presence of party chief Pawan Kalyan on Thursday, Balineni said at a press conference after his resignation.
In the letter, the former Ongole MLA wrote that he’s quitting the party because he is not happy with YCP leadership for not backing him when he filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India doubting the efficacy of EVMs. He asked for the cross checking of VVPAT slips at some polling stations in Ongole after his defeat in the Ongole Assembly elections.
“I have been expressing my displeasure at YCP leadership for a few days now. I always stood up for the right thing and when Jagan Reddy’s political decisions did not make sense, I stood up and expressed my displeasure,” he wrote in his letter.
