New Delhi: In a major breakthrough, the Navi Mumbai Police have apprehended Sukha, a suspect in the alleged plot to assassinate Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The arrest was made in Panipat, Haryana, and Sukha is set to be presented in court on Thursday, October 17, sources revealed to news agency PTI.
The shocking development adds another layer to the ongoing investigation into the connection between Salman Khan and the recent murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique. The Tiger 3 star has been the target of death threats for years, with the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang claiming responsibility for Siddique’s death. The gang also sent another message to Salman Khan, stating that they didn’t want this “war” but the actor made their “brother lose his life”.
Salman Khan in the Crosshairs
This isn’t the first time the Bollywood icon has found himself in the crosshairs. Earlier this year, police revealed an elaborate plot to target Salman while he travelled to his Panvel farmhouse, just months after a frightening firing incident occurred outside his Galaxy Apartment in Bandra.
The actor, in a statement to the Mumbai Police, expressed his belief that the shots were meant to harm him and his family. Investigators suspect that Lawrence Bishnoi has deployed a group of 60-70 operatives to monitor Khan’s every move, from his Mumbai residence to shooting locations and even his Panvel retreat.
Round-the-Clock Protection: Salman Khan’s Tightened Security
As the threats grow more severe, security around Salman Khan has become nearly impenetrable. Following Baba Siddique’s murder, Khan was assigned Y+ category security, meaning armed guards and a highly trained constable now accompany the star at all times. Fans and onlookers hoping to catch a glimpse of the actor are now barred from loitering outside his Galaxy Apartment, where selfies and videos are strictly prohibited.
In a tense twist in 2022, a menacing letter appeared on a bench opposite Khan’s Bandra home. In 2023, another threat arrived via email from the Bishnoi gang, further escalating the fear around the actor’s safety.
