A 650cc Royal Enfield Off-Road specific motorcycle has been for long been in the works and been highly anticipated by Royal Enfield fans. The new motorcycle will be called the Bear 650 and has already been leaked before its official debut at EICMA 2024.
The new motorcycle is a proper scrambler and quite a neat looking thing. The fuel tank is of a rounded shape and it features a long thin seat. There is the usual LED headlamp available on all the other Royal Enfield motorcycles and it also gets knobby tyres. The rear also features a circular LED taillamp and what seems like LED indicators as well.
At the heart of it all is the well known and loved Royal Enfield 649cc parallel twin engine which made its debut with the Interceptor and the Continental GT. It produces 47 bhp and 52 Nm of torque and we believe that power figures would remain the same with the Bear 650 as well but Royal Enfield could possibly alter the map for a better suited riding experience to a Scrambler. The exhaust is something very new and is a 2 to 1 unit.
The front wheel seems to be a 19-inch unit while the rears look like 17-inches. It seems to be getting the same BYBRE brakes that we have seen on other Royal Enfields. The front features upside down forks while the rear carries on with the dual shock units.
Another major change that is seen is the instrument cluster which is more in line with what we have seen on the new Himalayan 450 and the recently launched Guerilla 450.
The bike will most likely debut at EICMA 2024 and will launch soon after in the Indian and the international markets. We expect it to be priced on the higher side and sit above all the 650’s currently on sale. It will be the 5th motorcycle to feature the 649cc parallel twin engine after the Interceptor 650, Continental GT 650, Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650.
