Pawan Kalyan warns YSRCP: ‘Don’t mess with Sanatana Dharma’

FSSAI has issued a show cause notice to Tamil Nadu based AR Dairy Foods Private Limited for reportedly supplying adulterated ghee to the TTD.

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan took part in ‘purification ritual’ at Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Vijayawada.

The actor-turned politician began 11-day ‘Prayaschit Deeksha’ amid the controversy over alleged adulteration with animal fat in Tirupati laddu. The issue underscores his soft Hindutva leanings.

After the ritual, he spoke to the media and warned YSRCP leaders over ‘Sanatana Dharma.’

“Today marks the third day of Prayashchitta Diksha. Since my childhood, I have followed Sanatana Dharma. I am a devotee of Sri Ram and proud to be a Hindu.

YCP leaders are still speaking irresponsibly and insensitively. I am warning YCP leaders. Don’t mess with Sanatana Dharma,” he said.

Addressing comments made by Actor Prakash Raj, the Janasena leader said, “Prakash Raj should know about sensitive issues before he speaks. I am saying this to everyone along with him – Know what happened before you criticize. You can’t speak about it as you wish.”

Referring to ex-TTD EO Dharma Reddy, he said that the former EO was nowhere to be found. “No one can stop my fight for Sanatana Dharma. This soil respects all religions.”

FSSAI issues notice to AR Dairy:

Meanwhile, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a show cause notice to Tamil Nadu based AR Dairy Foods Private Limited for reportedly supplying adulterated ghee to the TTD, which was then used in the preparation of the laddu.

The TDP government produced a lab report which showed that beef tallow, fish oil and lard were used in the preparation of laddu. The report was dated July 23, 2024.

However, YSRCP leaders vehemently denied the allegations and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that processes were in place to procure ghee and no adulteration took place. He accused the TDP of diversion politics.
