Paul Pogba states that he is ‘willing to give up money’ to play for Juventus | Football News

Ex Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba talks about his willingness to play for Juventus after his ban, as he says that he is willing to give up money to play for the Italian giants

New Delhi: Paul Pogba stated that he would be happy to return to Juventus, even if it meant accepting a lower salary. The midfielder is adamant about playing for Juventus despite an 18-month doping suspension that has been shortened, demonstrating his devotion to the team. After being suspended for a positive testosterone test, he hopes to be cleared to play by March 2024. The French world cup winner has been out of action for quite some time now, but he has made his intentions clear with the Old Lady, that he wants to stay and help them compete for another Serie A title.

Paul Pogba considered retiring from football, something that he said in a recent interview, after being handed a four year ban from the game but he has now set his sights on a return to the France national team after seeing his punishment reduced to 18 months. However, Juventus recently claimed that they might not be keen enough to renew Pogba’s contract, which expires inJune 2026, and to make matters worse, they might as well look to terminate the Frenchman’s contract which states that he earns €8 million a year.

Paul Pogba willing to give up money to stay

One big problem that Juventus might face, if they plan on keeping Pogba for this season, is his high wages. It has been quite some time since we saw the Frenchman play full 90 minutes of football, and it is less likely that Thiago Motta will be willing to trust him right away. However, Pogba made some bold comments on his wages and his desire to stay at the club and play for them,

“I’m willing to give up money to be able to play again with Juve, I want to come back with this club,” Pogba stated in an interview that was posted on the website of the Italian sports daily.  He further added- “The reality is that I am a Juvetus player and I am preparing to play for the team.”

These comments show that he is willing to play for the Old Lady, who currently sit third behind their rivals Inter(2nd) and Napoli(1st). It will be interesting to see if Juve decide to extend the Frenchman’s contract, would that help Pogba’s situation where he needs game time desperately. It would also raise questions, if Thiago Motta is willing to give him minutes over already stacked Juve midfield, that has looked fresh and pretty strong since the start of the season.
