Thiruvananthapuram: The three main political parties in Kerala – CPI(M), Congress and the BJP will have to wait till November 23 to gauge their strength and acceptance in the state. As the Election Commission announced the schedule for the bypolls to Wayanad, Chelakkara and Palakkad constituencies, polls to all three constituencies will be held on November 13, and counting will be held on November 23. Candidates can file their nomination from October 18.

BJP, Congress, CPM yet to decide candidates for Palakkad, Chelakkara
The BJP is yet to decide their candidates for Palakkad city constituency which is one the saffron party’s stronghold. Prominent names such as Shobha Surendran, state president K Surendran and C Krishna Kumar are the prominent names that are under consideration. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Shobha Surendran could contest from Wayanad and Sandeep Warrier will be contesting from Palakkad.
Congress party is holding back to back meetings to decide its candidate in Palakkad. Palakkad DCC has been opposing the candidature of Rahul Mankoottathil and are in support of a local Congress leader from Palakkad. The CPM is planning to field Binu Mol, a local CPM leader from Palakkad.
