The municipal corporation has rolled out a plan to construct a link road which will connect the colony with Eastern Expressway. The plan includes construction of 70 metres long road which will be 18.3 metre wide.

Mumbai: Mulund’s Mahada Colony, which is generally affected by heavy traffic congestion is soon expected to get relief from it. The municipal corporation has rolled out a plan to construct a link road which will connect the colony with Eastern Expressway. During peak hours, the vehicles on the Mahada Colony road are stuck in traffic jams for as much as 25 minutes or more and many times causing a delay of half an hour.
To tackle these ongoing traffic problems the Mumbai Municipal Corporation is set to construct an important missing link on the Eastern Expressway. The new road is anticipated to save 15-20 minutes from the travel time of local commuters.
Additional projects
As per a report by News 18, along with this the municipal corporation has also rolled out the plan to develop two more roads in the Mulund area. This is estimated to cost around Rs 33.22 crore. Since Mithagar land is necessary for the project, the municipal corporation is working for the transfer of land. For this the corporation has submitted a proposal to the Central Government for the allocation of land. The officials are hopeful that the allotment of the land will be done soon.
Project details
According to the report, the plan includes construction of 70 metres long road which will be 18.3 metre wide. The road department has guaranteed the local residents that as soon as they get all required approvals from the government and the tender process is completed, they will start the construction.
