New Delhi: Matthew Perry’s death sent shockwaves across the world. The beloved Friends actor reportedly passed away due to a drug overdose on October 28, 2023. In new case details, five individuals have been charged in connection with his sudden demise. Of these five, Jasveen Sangha, also known as the Ketamine Queen is the one who allegedly provided Matthew Perry with a lethal dose of the drug. Here is what we know so far.
Who is Jasveen Sangha?
Jasveen Sangha is a 41-year-old British American citizen who has been on the authorities’ radar for the illegal distribution of narcotics since 2019. Also known as the ‘Ketamine Queen on Los Angeles’, this individual has been reportedly running her illegal activities in her home in North Hollywood. Jasveen Sangha was first caught in a drug bust in June 2019, an unrelated case. When her house was raided, the authorities found 79 bottles of liquid ketamine and nearly 2,000 meth pills among other substances.
Matthew Perry death – court case
The authorities have stated that Matthew Perry brought the ketamine via a broker named Eric Fleming, who sourced it from Jasveen Sangha. The infamous drug dealer reportedly sold 50 vials of ketamine in two separate deals within the few weeks leading up to Matthew Perry’s death. It is said that Matthew Perry first sampled the drug on October 13, following which two batches of the substance were delivered to the actor’s home on October 14 and 24, 2024. In addition to this, Jasveen Sangha also included ketamine lollipops as a free bonus gift due to the sheer volume of the deal.
Jasveen has been accused of selling 50 vials of ketamine for nearly 11,000 USD. The dealer has pleaded not guilty, however, the judge has expressed concerns as Jasveen is now allegedly responsible for two deaths – the 2019 case and Matthew Perry- who both died due to a ketamine overdose. If proven guilty, Jasveen Sangha faces a maximum of life in prison.
