KTM has teased two camouflaged versions of its highly anticipated 390 Adventure R model ahead of its global debut. Showcased at a rally in South Dakota, the 390 Adventure R, expected to debut at the 2024 EICMA show, promises to be a more off-road-focused variant of the 390 Adventure.

New Delhi: KTM has offered an exciting glimpse of its forthcoming 390 Adventure R model in camouflage ahead of its official launch. Showcased alongside the flagship 1390 Adventure R at a rally in South Dakota, USA, the new 390 Adventure R is poised to elevate the brand’s adventure bike line-up, especially for off-road enthusiasts. The global debut is expected to take place at the 2024 EICMA show in Milan, Italy, next month, sparking anticipation among riders worldwide.

New KTM 390 Adventure: A More Rugged Off-Roader

The 390 Adventure R is expected to be a more rugged, off-road-focused version of the standard 390 Adventure that is currently available in India. While KTM has not confirmed whether this off-road variant will be introduced to the Indian market, reports suggest that the company has been working on an updated version of the 390 Adventure in India. However, this model is anticipated to cater more to the touring segment rather than hardcore off-roading.

The newly teased 390 Adventure R is speculated to come equipped with several off-road enhancements. Among the most notable changes are the larger 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels, designed to handle rough terrains more effectively than the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheels expected on the tourer version. Additionally, the Adventure R variant is likely to feature slimmer, more aggressive off-road tyres for better grip on rugged surfaces.

KTM has also upgraded the suspension setup on the 390 Adventure R to provide greater flexibility and control on challenging trails. The bike is likely to be equipped with WP upside-down front forks, offering compression and rebound adjustment to suit a variety of off-road conditions. The rear suspension is also expected to be fully adjustable, allowing riders to fine-tune the bike’s performance based on their specific riding needs.

New KTM 390 Adventure: Specs

Powering the 390 Adventure R will be the same 399cc DOHC 4-valve liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine found in the standard 390 Adventure. The engine is capable of producing an impressive 45 bhp and 40 Nm of torque, offering enough power to tackle both paved roads and off-road trails with ease. This makes it a versatile machine, capable of transitioning from daily commuting to weekend trail riding.

KTM is also reportedly working on two other models, the 390 Enduro R and the 390 SMC R, which are expected to be unveiled alongside the Adventure R at the EICMA show. The company has been testing these models extensively, but details about their specifications remain under wraps for now. Both models are expected to carry the same 399cc engine but will be tailored to different riding experiences.
