New Delhi: Kim Kardashian is no stranger to headline-worthy fashion moments, but her latest accessory has everyone talking. At the recent LACMA Art+Film Gala, the popular social media influencer wore a custom Gucci gown with a plunging neckline. She kept her look classic yet bold.
But the true highlight of her outfit wasn’t the gown. It was her striking choice of jewellery – a historical amethyst crucifix pendant known as the Atallah Cross Necklace, once worn by none other than Princess Diana.
Princess Diana’s Atallah Cross Necklace
The Atallah Cross Necklace is a rare and storied piece. Adorned with square-cut amethysts and set in diamonds, it hung from a string of pearls. Princess Diana famously wore this statement piece in 1987 at a charity gala. In 2022, Kim Kardashian purchased the Atallah Cross Necklace at a Sotheby’s auction for a hefty sum. The price of the necklace is $197,453 (Rs 1,66,04,242.28 approx).

Unlike Princess Diana, who wore the necklace long over a deep purple velvet gown, Kim shortened its length by layering it with a pearl choker from Tallarico and another diamond-and-pearl piece from Bulgari. The SKIMS founder donned a ravishing floor-length Gucci gown featuring a plunging neckline paired with a dramatic white coat.
Kim Kardashian’s Marlin Monroe dress
Last year, Kim made waves at the Met Gala by wearing Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress, the one Monroe wore to serenade President John F. Kennedy with Happy Birthday. The dress was lent her by Ripley’s Believe It Or Not where she was seen wearing it from the moment she arrived at the bottom of the Met steps to the top. It was later returned to the source in its original state and Kim wore a replica of the dress for the rest of the evening.
