New Delhi: The beloved independent Brooklyn rapper Kaseem Ryan, popularly known as Ka, passed away on Saturday, October 12, at the age of 52. The news of his sudden demise was shared on his official Instagram account, Brownsville. He breathed his last in New York. However, the reason for his death is still unknown.
He was a veteran of the New York City Fire Department and was the first responder during the attacks on the World Trade Center. He was even ranked FDNY captain. He is survived by his wife Mimi Valdes, his mother and his sister.

Who was Kaseem Ryan aka Ka?
Kaseem Ryan aka Ka was a firefighter who became a rapper and a music producer in New York. He released 11 albums overall in his career span. Before he became independent, he was a member of the Natural Elements group and a group called Nightbreed. He released all of his albums on his own label, Iron Works, which was also his debut album.
In 2008, he gained popularity with his music and was known for his published lyrics and collaborations with GZA of Wu-Tang Clan and producer Roc Marciano. His music impressed critics and fellow hip-hop artists so much that people started to call him one of the greatest hip-hop writers.
