Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge’s son-in-law has been fielded from Kalaburagi Lok Sabha seat. The Congress has kept the names for four seats pending.

Bengaluru: The Congress on Thursday released 17 names from Karnataka for the Lok Sabha elections. So far, the party has released 24 names out of which 10 are kin of legislators.
Among the names released, the kin of seven ministers have got the ticket for the Lok Sabha elections.
1 Chikkodi- Priyanka Jarkiholi, daughter of PWD Minister Satish Jarkiholi
2 Belagavi- Mrunal Hebbalkar, son of Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar
3 Bagalkot- Samyukta Patil, daughter of Sugar Minister Shivanand Patil
4 Bidar- Sagar Khandre, son of Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre
5 Bengaluru South- Sowmya Reddy, daughter of Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy
6 Davanagere- Prabha Mallikarjun, wife of Horticulture Minister SS Mallikarjun.
7 Shivamooga- Geeta Shivarajkumar, sister of Education Minister Madhu Bagarappa.
Another set of five names are relatives of legislators and former lawmakers of the Congress party.
1 Kalaburagi- Radhakrishna Doddamani, son-in-law of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge
2 Koppal- Rajshekhjar Hitnal, brother of MLA Raghavendra Hitnal
3 Bengaluru Central- Mansoor Khan, former Union Minister Rehman Khan’s son
4 Mandya- Venkataramane Gowda, independent MLA Puttaswamy’s brother.
5 Hassan- Shreyas Patel, former MP late Puttaswamy Gowda’s grandson.
Other names include G Kumar Naik who got ticket from Raichur constituency is a former IAS officer, and K Jayaprakash Hegde, who was until recently the Chairman of Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes that submitted the Socio-Economic and Education Survey report to the state government, has been announced as a candidate for Udupi-Chikmagalur.
The other candidates who figure in the second list are M Laxman (Mysuru), Vinod Asooti (Dharwad), Padmaraj (Dakshina Kannada), Anjali Nimbalkar (Uttara Kannada), and BN Chandrappa (Chitradurga).
