New Delhi: Pan-India-actor Kamal Haasan will not be hosting Bigg Boss Tamil 8. Taking to his official social media handles notably, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), the Tamil star revealed that he has taken a short break from hosting the popular reality TV show. For those who do not know, the Chachi 420 actor has been associated with Bigg Boss Tamil since its inception in 2007.

Announcing his temporary exit from the show, the veteran star wrote in an official statement, “Dear Viewers, With a heavy heart, I wish to inform you that I will be taking a small break from our journey that began 7 years ago. Due to prior cinematic commitments, I’m unable to host the upcoming season of Bigg Boss Tamil.”

He further added, “Personally, being your host has been an enriching association, where I have honestly shared my learnings. I will always be grateful for this learning experience. I sincerely thank each one of you and the contestants in the show for our time together. Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful team at Vijay TV, as well as every crew member who has been involved in making this enterprise a grand success. I am sure this season will be yet another success (sic).”

On the work front, Kamal Haasan was recently seen in two huge films, Indian 2 and Kalki 2898 AD. While Indian 2 was highly criticised by fans and critics alike, Kalki 2898 AD being a multi-starrer action film raked in numbers at the box office.
Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Prabhas as well, the film has minted over Rs 1000 crore worldwide. The India nett collection of Kalki 2898 AD stands at Rs 640.02 crore.
