Jeep has teased the upcoming Meridian facelift. They have also officially opened the bookings for the car and there are rumors that it might get a 5-seater option as well. Here is everything you need to know.
Jeep will soon be launching the facelifted version of the Meridian.
The Jeep Meridian has been the older cousin to the Compass. Based on the same platform and sharing the same internals, the Meridian is essentially a longer wheelbase version with more seats when compared to the Compass. Jeep will soon be face-lifting the Meridian and adding some needed visual changes, new features and a 5-seater option as well.
We can expect to see the Meridian with new headlights, a new grille, new wheels, and some added features like ADAS Level 2 which has been a common sight in this segment of cars. There would also be a 5-seater option for those who really don’t need the rear seats and have the rear of the vehicle as a huge boot. The 7-seater option will continue to be sold alongside. The Meridian might also get new colour on the exterior as well as on the interior.
The Meridian will mechanically remain the same as the outgoing car and feature the same FIAT sourced Multijet 2.0L diesel engine which produces 168 bhp and 350 Nm of torque. It is either paired to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. One can also get the Meridian with an all-wheel-drive system with drive modes.
Currently the Jeep Meridian starts from Rs 29.84 lakh (ex-showroom). Currently it is offered in 4 variants and 7 colour options. The variants are-Limited, Limited O, Overland, and Merdian X. We can see a variant reshuffle as well with the new facelift. Customers who would like to get the new Meridian can book the car for a booking amount o Rs 50,000 at their nearest Jeep dealership. Meanwhile the current Meridian currently has a lot of discounts and is a pretty good deal. The Meridian competes with cars like the Mahindra XUV7OO, Citroen C5 Aircross, Hyundai Tucson and the Toyota Fortuner.
