The season of the flagship smartphones of the next era is about to begin! While we have recently witnessed the launch of the iPhone 16 series and the first-ever tri-fold phone in the world, iQOO is now preparing to launch its next flagship model, the iQOO 13 5G. It is expected to make its official debut in the coming weeks, possibly in late October or early November. While the company has not confirmed an exact launch date, various leaks have already hinted at what the new smartphone may bring to the table.
The iQOO 13 will succeed the iQOO 12, and expectations are high, but some changes may surprise fans, including a downgrade in charging speed. Here’s everything that you need to know about the iQOO 13.
iQOO 13: Expected Specs and Features
A post on Weibo revealed several specs and features, which suggest that the iQOO 13 will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. This display is likely to be an improvement over the previous generation’s panel, potentially surpassing the BOE X2 screen. Furthermore, the phone is expected to have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. Under the hood, the iQOO 13 is expected to run on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. You can expect up to 16GB of RAM and storage options reaching up to 512GB. For gamers, the iQOO 13 might include a self-developed Q2 chip.
The camera system on the iQOO 13 is tipped to be another highlight. The phone is rumoured to feature a triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary sensor, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, it could pack a 32MP front-facing camera.
Achilles’ heel!
One notable downgrade with the iQOO 13 is its charging capabilities. Unlike its predecessor, which supported 120W fast charging, the iQOO 13 is expected to come with a slightly slower 100W fast charging. It will also support Power Delivery (PD) charging, which is becoming a standard feature in many high-end smartphones. Leaks suggest that the phone is rumoured to come with a USB Type-C to Type-C cable and may include a charger in the box. Additionally, it could house a large 6,150mAh battery, promising long-lasting performance.
