An IndiGo Airlines flight that was Lucknow from Daman to Lucknow made an emergency landing in Jaipur after it received a bomb threat on Tuesday evening. All other flights were stopped from landing at the airport at the time due to security reasons.
Jaipur. An IndiGo Airlines, along with six other flights received bomb threats on Tuesday. The flight was on its way to Lucknow from Dammam made an emergency landing in Jaipur after receiving a bomb threat. While security arrangements were made immediately after the plane landed at the airport.
Importantly, among six other flights which too received bomb threats include an Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru (IX765), SpiceJet flight from Darbhanga to Mumbai (SG116), Akasa Air flight from Bagdogra to Bengaluru (QP 1373), Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago (AI 127), Alliance Air Amritsar-Dehradun-Delhi flight (9I 650) and an Air India Express flight (IX 684) from Madurai to Singapore.
Immediately after flight landed at the airport, authorities checked all the passengers, and were brought down from the flight. While there no confirmation about the bomb in the flight, the airport authorities stopped other flight from landing at the airport at the time due to the threat.
Air India Flight diverted earlier to Canada
Earlier on Tuesday, an Air India was diverted to qaluit Airport in Canada after a suspected bomb threat. The Flight AI127 was on its way Chicago from New Delhi. The threat was reportedly posted online.
“The flight AI127 Operating from Delhi to Chicago on October 15, 2024, was the subject of a security threat posted online, and as a precautionary measure, has landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada. The aircraft and passengers are being re-screened as per the laid down security protocol. Air India has activated agencies at the airport to assist the passengers until such time that their journey can resume,” it said in a statement.
Two IndiGo flights received bomb threats on Monday
On Monday, two IndiGo flights received bomb threat which were later turned out to be a hoax. While one of the flights was on its way from Mumbai to Jeddah, the other one was from Mumbai to Muscat. After the bomb threat, airport officials took an immediate step to ensure safety of the passengers, after which both flights were shifted to isolated bay. Speaking about the bomb threats, an IndiGo spokesperson said that both the aircraft were redirected to isolated bay after all standard operating procedures were followed and security checks were security checks were conducted .
