Life certificate online submission can be made through the Jeevan Pramaan portal. Pensioners can also submit the life proof through doorstep banking agents. Post offices have biometric devices which can be used for Jeevan Pramaan submission. Bank branches also offer life certificate submission facilities.
What is life certificate?
Life certificate is also called a letter of existence or Jeevan Pramaam Patra to certify that an individual is alive so that they can have access to their pension. Jeevan Pramaan Patra can also be submitted via JeevanPramaan face app. The JeevanPramaan app can be used to authenticate that you are alive using your biometrics and face recognition software. However, pensioners must ensure that they have an Aadhaar card and a registered mobile number. They should ensure that their Aadhaar has been enrolled with the pension disbursing authority.

Will pension stop without life certificate?
The pension disbursing authority may halt the pension disbursement from the next month if the Jeevan Pramaan Patra submission is not completed by the stipulated deadline. However, the pension disbursal will resume once the life certificate is submitted.
How to get life certificate for pensioners living abroad
Pensioners living abroad may approach their embassy or consulate for identity verification to receive a life certificate. They can also use the designated app for digital life certificate download. Alternatively, they may designate an agent to submit the life certificate on their behalf provided that it is signed by a magistrate or notary. An Indian diplomat can also sign this certificate granting it validity.
