Mumbai: In response to the anticipated heavy rainfall, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has declared a holiday for all schools and colleges across Mumbai. The closure, set for today, applies to both government and private institutions. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for the region, advising residents to avoid non-essential travel and outdoor activities. The IMD warns that the ongoing weather pattern could escalate, leading to dangerous conditions in parts of Maharashtra, including the North Konkan region, where Mumbai is located.
