Apart from assembly election, the schools are likely to be closed on October 8, on the day of counting. The other school holidays in October are- Maha Saptami- October 10, Maha Ashtami- October 11, Maha Navami- October 12, Vijaya Dashami- October 13, Valmiki Jayanti- October 17, Diwali- October 31

Haryana Schools Closed: Due to assembly elections in Haryana on October 5, schools in Panchkula district will remain closed on October 4 and 5. The assembly elections in Panchkula district which has two assembly segments — Kalka and Panchkula is scheduled for October 5. Deputy Commissioner Yash Garg said that all government and private schools of the district will be closed on these days in view of the assembly elections.

Apart from assembly election, the schools are likely to be closed on October 8, on the day of counting. The other school holidays in October are- Maha Saptami- October 10, Maha Ashtami- October 11, Maha Navami- October 12, Vijaya Dashami- October 13, Valmiki Jayanti- October 17, Diwali- October 31.

The schools will also be closed on four Saturdays (October 5, 12, 19, 26) and four Sundays (October 6, 13, 20, 27). In November, the school holidays in the state is on Guru Nanak Dev Jayanti on November 15.

  • Maharishi Valmiki’s Birthday- October 17
  • Diwali- October 31.

Bihar

  • Gandhi Jayanti- October 2
  • Durga Puja- October 10, 11, 12
  • Diwali- October 31.

Haryana

  • Gandhi Jayanti- October 2
  • Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti- October 3
  • Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti- October 17
  • Diwali- October 31.

Uttar Pradesh

  • Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti- October 2
  • Vijay Dashami- October 12
  • Narak Chaturdashi- October 30
  • Diwali- October 31.

West Bengal

  • Gandhi Jayanti/ Mahalaya- October 2
  • Durga Puja to Lakshmi Puja- October 7- 18
  • Kali Puja- October 31.

Madhya Pradesh

  • Gandhi Jayanti- October 2
  • Vijaya Dashmi- October 11- 13
  • Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti- October 17
  • Diwali- October 29- 31.

Chhattisgarh

  • Gandhi Jayanti- October 2
  • Vijaya Dashmi- October 12
  • Diwali- October 31.

Karnataka

  • Gandhi Jayanthi/ Mahalaya- October 2
