Google AI That Will Detect TB And Cancer Via Sound Of Cough! | Tech News

Tech News

Google has introduced its AI that will help in detecting tuberculosis and cancer. Here’s how.

AI is slowly stepping into healthcare and making wonders beyond our imagination. One recent example is Google AI which has introduced an AI tool which can detect tuberculosis (TB) and cancer. During the recent Google for India event, where the company showcased several health infrastructures in the country. One of the highlighted ones is the Google AI which can now identify TB through audio, making it easier for patients to get tested.

To further make it happen on the ground level, the tech giant has partnered with Apollo Radiology International to conduct three million AI-powered screenings for TB, lung and breast cancer at no cost over the next decade in India.

How Will It Work?

Google’s AI is also being integrated into the healthcare delivery system through partnerships with various medical institutions. For example, the Clinical Intelligence Engine uses Google Cloud to provide real-time clinical insights, helping doctors make informed decisions.

Additionally, the company’s image and audio recognition capabilities will help in disease detection. For example, the Indian healthcare platform Swaasa is exploring how to detect TB from cough sounds using Google’s AI models. A previous Bloomberg report suggested that patients will have to upload a 10-second cough sample to let the Google AI detect the disease.

Google To Boost Indian Health Infrastructure

Apart from this, Google is working with the Government of India to boost health infrastructure through its collaboration with the National Health Authority (NHA). One of the key focuses is on the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to create a digital health ecosystem. Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) allows you to have a universal health ID that enables patients to store and share their health information, such as lab reports and prescriptions.

Starting next year, ABHA ID cards will be available on Google Wallet, allowing over 600 million users to manage their health information, Google suggested. However, you don’t need to worry about data privacy as Google will ask you to authenticate your devices with a fingerprint, PIN, or passcode.

Moreover, Google has partnered with major healthcare providers to create over 800 health knowledge panels on its search platform, available in both English and Hindi. Not just that, YouTube will also feature resources on common health issues, including diabetes, cancer, and mental health to make sure that accurate information reaches you.
