Hyderabad: A recent inspection by the Commissioner of Food Safety at a Burger King outlet in Malakpet has raised significant health concerns regarding the restaurant’s food preparation practices. During the inspection, officials discovered that the palm oil used for frying non-vegetarian items contained a Total Polar Compound (TPC) value of 27.0, surpassing the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) safe limit of 25.0.
Oils with TPC levels exceeding this threshold are deemed unsafe for human consumption, posing potential health risks to customers. In response to this violation, the Commissioner took immediate action, seizing 15 liters of the cooking oil from the establishment.
