Food violations at two prominent club in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad: Task Force teams of the food safety department conducted inspections on two clubs; Nizam Club, which is 140-year-old and Fateh Maidan club on Tuesday, September 24. Nizam club was founded in 1884 during the time of Mahabub Ali Khan, sixth Nizam of Hyderabad.
‘No FSSAI license’:
The inspection teams found that the Nizam club was operating the business without a valid Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) license.
They also found that medical fitness certificates for food handlers, pest control records for premises & water analysis report for RO water used for food preparation were not available.
Live cockroach infestation observed inside kitchen premises. Water seepage observed from ceiling directly over grinding area and refrigerator doors were found broken and joints were rusted. Food articles stored were found covered but not labelled. Drains were found clogged and water stagnation was observed.
Synthetic food colours found inside kitchen and upon enquiry FBO stated to have used them for Chinese items and was discarded on the spot.
Fateh Maidan club:
FSSAI license true copy was not displayed at prominent location and food handlers inside kitchen were found without hair caps, aprons & gloves. Medical fitness certificates for food handlers & water analysis report for RO water used for food preparation were not available.
Pest control records are available but windows were found open without insect proof screen to avoid entry of pests. Walls were found to be greasy and floor found uneven with broken tiles. Semi prepared food articles were stored inside refrigerator were not covered and not labelled properly. Dustbins found open without proper lids on them.
