This initiative follows the announcement of catamaran boat rides in the holy cities of Ayodhya, Mathura, and Kashi. A partnership between the Uttar Pradesh State Tourism Corporation and the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) will see two catamaran boats delivered to each city.

Currently, Ayodhya and Varanasi have received one catamaran each, with a capacity for 50 passengers. The Tourism Corporation has requested that future catamarans feature open-air designs, complete with a deck, pantry, toilets, and other amenities to ensure a comfortable experience for tourists.

Enhance pilgrimage and cultural exploration

The introduction of helicopter services in Uttar Pradesh is poised to greatly enhance the state’s pilgrimage and cultural tourism landscape. One standout feature is the aerial darshan of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, which offers devotees a remarkable chance to admire the sacred temple from a breathtaking vantage point above. This unique perspective not only deepens the spiritual experience but also showcases the architectural beauty of one of India’s most revered sites.

In addition to Ayodhya, tourists will have the opportunity to view iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal in Agra and the historic city of Banaras from the skies, allowing for a fresh appreciation of these renowned attractions. This innovative approach to tourism emphasises the beauty and significance of Uttar Pradesh’s cultural heritage, inviting visitors to explore these sites in a way that few have before.

The enhanced accessibility provided by helicopter travel is likely to attract a wider array of tourists, both domestic and international, encouraging them to explore the rich tapestry of cultural and spiritual experiences that Uttar Pradesh has to offer.
