Chennai, which witnessed incessant rain since the day before yesterday, has started to see some respite. The rain reminded residents of the devastating December floods, prompting precautionary measures. A red alert was issued for Chennai and its surrounding districts, leading to public caution and vehicles being parked in safe locations.
