Bengaluru: Telugu actor Hema, also known as Krishnaveni, has been included in a charge sheet filed by the Central Crime Branch in connection to a rave party organized on May 15 at a farmhouse near Bengaluru’s Electronic City. The CCB named her as a consumer in the drugs case.
A forensic report confirmed the presence of MDMA in her system, which led to the CCB including her in the charge sheet on Monday.
The charge sheet has reportedly named 88 people, including Hema, while another Tollywood actor Ashi Roy, who is listed as a witness, tested negative.
Hema out on bail:
The actor denied her involvement initially and released a video on her Instagram claiming that she was in Hyderabad at the time of the raid. After medical tests, she was found to have consumed drugs and was arrested. She is currently out on bail. The actor attended the rave party as a friend of Vasu, who organised the party, police said.
Vasu, an event manager, held the party at GR Farms in Singena Agrahara on the occasion of his birthday and his event management company’s anniversary.
Hema and 78 others have been charged under Section 27 (b) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
Nine individuals including the organizer and his associates, dentist Randhir Babu from Chittoor district, Nagababu, Mohamed Abubakar, Nigerian national Augustine Dada have been named as significant figures for organizing the party and supplying drugs.
