Bengaluru Rave Party case: Telugu actress Hema gets bail

Hema’s lawyer Mahesh Kiran Shetty argued that drugs were not confiscated from her and medical tests were conducted ten days after the incident.

Bengaluru: A local court in the city granted bail to Telugu actress Hema, who was arrested on June 3 in connection to the rave party case.

Hema’s lawyer Mahesh Kiran Shetty argued that drugs were not confiscated from her and medical tests were conducted ten days after the incident. The lawyer brought to the court’s attention that the police did not provide any evidence that drugs were consumed.

Meanwhile, Crime Control Bureau (CCB) lawyer handed over evidence of her involvement in the party to the court. After hearing both sides of the arguments, the judge granted conditional bail to the actress.

It has to be noted that Hema was sent to judicial custody for 14 days on June 3. Her legal troubles began when Bengaluru Police raided GR Farmhouse and she was apprehended along with others at the rave party. Shortly after, she posted a video on her social media account trying to establish that she was in Hyderabad and not in Bangalore. She maintained that she was innocent through the legal proceedings.

After the arrest, Movie Artistes Association cancelled her membership, in a blow to her career. While the bail comes a relief, the case is far from over as the actress now is focused on clearing her name to return to her career.
