Bengaluru: The tech city grapples with traffic congestion in many areas after the end of the Diwali weekend. Thousands of vehicles returning after a long Diwali weekend created congestion points in many routes across the city. The stretch between Sira and Bengaluru has been affected significantly by this congestion.

The traffic speed in many areas was reduced to 10 km/h due to the formation of choke points across the region. The areas particularly affected by this include Majestic, Mysore Road, Old Madras Road, and Goraguntepalya. The traffic queues in many areas stretched from three to five kilometres causing great inconvenience to the people. The areas like Hebbal and Manyata Tech Park also experienced slow-moving traffic, as per a report by Bengaluru Mirror.

In the report, a two-wheeler commuter named Nikshith said that after Deepavali festival, he travelled from Hassan to Bengaluru. From Nelamangala to Goraguntepalya it took him one hour while from Hassan to Nelamangala which are 140 kilometres away took him just 2 hours.
