Mumbai: Days after NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai, the police have come across several big revelations in the initial probe. In its probe, the probe found that the deceased’s house and office were recced five times in 28 days before attacking him.
The shooters not only recced his house at least five times for the next 28 days, they also kept track of his every movement. After this, they decided to attack him on the day of Dussehra. Notably, Baba Siddiques’ son Zeeshan was also on their hit list, but the latter was out of Mumbai at the time of the incident.
Praveen Lonkar took shooters from Pune to Mumbai
Shubham Lonkar’s brother Praveen, both of whom are in custody, had come to Mumbai from Pune to drop the shooters before the incident. After the murder, Praveen also took to social media to claim responsibility for the same. According to the police, the police have also recovered a 9MM pistol, which was used to assassinate the NCP MLA. It is also suspected that the weapon was brought in either from Nepal or Pakistan.
Police recovered three mobile phones
The police had also recovered three mobile phones from the two shooters who were the first to be taken into custody. There were several conversations on these phones before the incident. The names of individuals with whom the conversations took place were not saved in these mobile numbers. One of the accused Shiv Gautam was also reported to be in contact with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang through social media sites Signal, Telegram, and Snapchat before the murder.
