Aprilia has taken the wraps of the Tuono 457 which is essentially a naked version of the RS 457. Here is everything you need to know about the new Aprilia entry level naked motorcycle.
Aprilia has showcased the naked version of the RS 457 which they are calling the Tuono 457 at EICMA 2024.
Aprilia has revealed the naked version of the RS 457 and they are calling it the Tuono 457. It shares its engine with the RS 457 but sports a completely new design and also has a more relaxed riding position. The Tuono 457 will also be made in India and will come at a more affordable price than the RS.
Lets start with the design, since thats the most distinctive part. It gets a completely different front end. The headlights are a single LED unit and is complemented by DRLs on either sides. There is completely new tank design and it is a little smaller at 12.7 litres than the RS, and a new fairing. With the Tuono being a naked, you can see more of the engine and there is no real fairing covering it up.
The Tuono also gets a more relaxed riding position but other things remain pretty much the same. It gets the same rear end, same suspension, same brakes and similar TFT colour screen for the instrument cluster. The engine remains the beloved 457cc parallel twin unit which produces 47.6 bhp and 43.5 Nm of torque. While the power is the same, we are not sure if Aprilia has altered the tune for different power delivery. Power goes through a 6-speed gearbox which features a slipper-assist-clutch as well.
Other features like traction control, riding modes, and dual-channel ABS remains as standard. The Tuono will also be offered with a bi-directional quick-shifter which was recently made an option on the RS 457 as well. Aprilia will offer the Tuono with a whole lot of accessories which will include saddlebags, a tank bag, pillion seat cowl, brake and clutch lever protectors, and sintered brake pads. The RS 457 starts at Rs 4.10 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market but we expect the Tuono to be launched at a much lower price near about Rs 3.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be launched officially early next year.
